Pen-Ek Ratanaruang's Invisible Waves

Film is very personal to me and their is a feeling I get from it that I just can't explain. I've been watching movies since I can remember and one of my favorite films of the past decade is "Invisible Waves" directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang a talented Thai filmmaker who actually made my favorite film of the decade "Last Life In The Universe". The film was well received by critics around the world in 2006, but its a rare jewel that will fall between the crack years from now. So take some time out and rent this from Netflick or your neighborhood rental place. The film stars one of the best actors today Tadanobu Asano who is famously know for his roles in Takashi Miike's "Ichi The Killer" and Takeshi Kitano's "The Blind Swordsman: Zatoichi". Jacques Audiard's Un Prophete

So the next film that'll be watching is a flick called "Un Prophete". Directed by one of the most talented filmmakers in the world and my favorite French filmmaker in the last 10 years Jacques Audiard. He is responsible for the French remake of "Fingers" the film was renamed "The Beat That My Heart Skipped" and a great film from 2001 called "Read My Lips". His new film is about an young Arabic man who's life would change drastically through the crime underworld in prison. The film won the Grand Prix award at Cannes and is currently nominated for an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. The trailer looks amazing and I'm almost certain that this film is going to be a fun journey. I'll tell you guys more about this film and how I feel about it as soon as I watch it.

I think I just became a Lomographer

Diana F+

On Presidents Day Shaina and I went to Lomography(http://www.lomography.com/) NYC Gallery/Store in West Village and took a 2 hour seminar. Their we learn how to use the Diana F, and after the seminar we went to Washington Square park to shoot a roll of 120mm film. I picked up the prints today and I'm actually really pleased with what I shot. I really thought I was going to have every shot out of focus but I came out with some Beauties.

Here's what came out of this Plastic Toy Camera

About to watch...

Killer of Sheep. I've been waiting to watch this for sometime now and I finally have the chance to watch it(Thanks to my brother). The film is directed by Charles Burnett who made this film on a budget of under $10,000. It was shot on 16mm and recently was restored and transferred to 35mm. This masterpiece never had a wide release back in 1977 because of the fact that it featured songs in the film that couldn't pass clearance at the time. In 2007 it was featured in many film festivals and a limit theatrical release, but finally the film is available on DVD so I have my opportunity to enjoy it.

UPDATE!!! Music Videos I Directed or Did Cinematography or both!
